What people round here usually need
Most of the people I talk to in Bridgend are one or two of them. A groundworker in Bryncethin, a hairdresser working out of a room in Brackla, a garage on the industrial estate. Hardly anyone comes to me wanting a beautiful website, they come because nobody who doesn’t already know them can find them.
Usually there’s a Facebook page that’s been going six years and vanishes the second somebody searches on Google instead. Three things matter more than what the site looks like, and only one of them is the site.
Your Google Business Profile is first. It sits above every website on the page with your hours, your reviews and a button that rings you. Last year’s opening times and three photos is costing you calls before anyone gets near the website. It’s free to fix and I’ll go through it with you.
Second, the site has to load on a phone in a car park. A lot of the people looking you up are stood outside somewhere with two bars, deciding whether to ring you or the next name down.
Third, an enquiry that goes somewhere you’ll see. Not everyone rings, and one sat in your inbox at nine o’clock at night is one you can pick up before anybody else has opened a laptop.
The Bridgend name problem
Bridgend is a town and a county borough, which trips people up. Type it in a search box and one person means the town centre, the next means anywhere from Porthcawl to Caerau. The borough’s own name doesn’t tell anybody which half of it you cover, and a page that says South Wales and nothing else never turns up for someone searching in Pencoed.
The names people actually use round here are the villages: Pencoed, Bryncethin, Sarn, Aberkenfig, Pyle, Brackla, Litchard, Coity, Laleston. Everywhere within about fifteen minutes of the town, which is most of what I cover from here.
Being fifteen minutes away
It doesn’t make the code better, I won’t pretend it does. What it changes is the first conversation, and the awkward ones later.
I can come to you, look at what you’ve already got, take the photos off your phone instead of asking you to email forty of them. We work out what you need while you’re stood there. And when something goes wrong you’re messaging a person in the same county, not opening a ticket somewhere in another time zone.

Hosting and email
For most sites I build there's no ongoing hosting cost and no monthly retainer. The domain renews once a year at list price, no commission from me, and it's registered in your name so you can take it elsewhere whenever you want.
Email goes on your own custom domain, setup properly so what you send lands in the inbox rather than the spam folder.
